our story
Hi, I'm Jenna!
I founded Sproutable because I just couldn't take all the plastic in my home any more. I didn't want to use it for myself or my family. Both for our health, but also for the planet.
One day I found an old sippy cup full of curdled milk under a car seat and I hated that my instinct was to throw it away. I thought why aren't there more compostable options for moments like this??
But when I went looking for a solution, nothing fit the need. Most "compostable" products had to be commercially composted, which meant most never actually broke down as designed because they weren't taken to the proper place... and I thought well then what's even the point?? Might as well have been trash. So we set out to make a fully home compostable company with products that beak down right in your backyard pile, just like a bouquet of flowers would.
But also, we noticed all the eco-friendly products out there were kind of ugly or boring, and didn't make me want to jump at buying them. So we set on a mission to make home compostable the easy choice.
It took a LOT of research, trial and error, and patience but in Fall of 2025 we launched!
Our mission is simple... bring elegant convenience without sacrificing your health or damaging the earth. All of our products will always be plastic free, certified home compostable, and thoughtfully designed. And we hope you join us in making home compostable the easy choice

Every choice we make has an impact. the first choice was replacing the common, cheaper method of lining cups and straws with plastic or PLA. instead we worked to line our products with a plant based pha waterproof coating, an organic aqueous solution. this is how our home compostable cups stand up to the rigors of your life without falling apart - yes even the straws! Plus our packaging is 100% plastic free too, even down to the tape we use to ship orders out.

Every piece we design has to pass a simple, three-part test:
